It's a fundamental part of our culture, and we are continually improving our working practices and processes so that we understand and meet our customers' requirements, and ultimately exceed those requirements by providing a quality of service that is second to none.
In recognition of our commitment to quality, we have achieved several levels of certification. Most recently (March 2014) we were re-certified to AS9120 standard; this re-certification also includes a Change to Approval, which incorporates our Monchengladbach office in Germany. In February 2013 we gained ISO 13485 accreditation for medical markets and previously (July 2012), we also became the first UK electronic component distributor to achieve the prestigious SC21 Silver accreditation. Through working on these excellence and quality programmes, we have seen significant improvements in our workplace and operations. These improvements have lead to a raised performance in our supply chains.
With dedicated purchasing teams in Europe, Asia and USA, having local support across the globe enables us to arrange supplier audits in most countries within 24 hours. Supplier audits are essential and are carried out routinely. As part of our commitment to customers, we have introduced an in-house traffic light system for vendor selection, providing clear classification to buyers and providing the structure for initial evaluation, performance monitoring and re-evaluation activities, ensuring the continued integrity of the supply base.
Over 80% of all product purchased comes from green channel sources.
As part of our quality procedures, we utilise a Western owned and operated, ISO9001:2008 approved, test house located in Asia which provides additional support and security when sourcing via the red channel. We obtain the consent of customers who wish to use this route, and we also work closely with manufacturers to validate the authenticity of parts.
We continually strive to develop and strengthen our quality management system in order to remain responsive to our customers'; requirements and to the dynamics of the ever-changing market. In addition to external supply chain activities, we also have in place stringent warehouse inspection procedures. All products, without exception, are photographed and are fully traceable from PO receipt through to sales order dispatch. With a CRMA rate of less than 1% our quality statistics speak for themselves.
