In addition to its recent AS9120 accreditation, Rebound Electronics has also been awarded the SC21 Bronze award highlighting the company´s ongoing commitment to delivering quality and continuous improvement to its expanding Global customer base.
SC21 is a Military / Aerospace award that all prime Military and Aerospace companies in the UK will recognise at senior management level.
Sheila Lord, the Group Materials & Quality Manager, commented:
"Some of the regular buyers we currently work with might not be aware of the importance of this accreditation but I believe this will change over the next 12 months as everyone in this market sector will become increasingly aware of its importance and impressed that Rebound has invested in ensuring that we can meet the needs of our customers".
Rebound has been pivotal in re-defining the electronics sourcing model with the introduction of the terms Hybrid Distribution. With years´ of experience in the electronics industry it became apparent to them that the market place was in need of a fresh approach to how electronics products were procured. This change in direction was being driven by market conditions and the customers’ need for suppliers to bridge the gap between current market offerings and a more focused approach to their needs. This article explores Rebound’s solution to the problem and why the concept Hybrid Distribution is proving so successful.
The concept sounds easy but in fact requires commitment throughout the organisation in order to make it work. Rebound’s background was primarily as a broker. However, this part of the industry is completely unregulated and fraught with issues such as counterfeit or unreliable, substandard product, especially given the increasingly strong influence of internet based business.
A true Hybrid Distributor can be defined as a company that can truly offer all of the following attributes:
Rebound combined these criteria with its AS9120 and SC21 implementation as well as its regular supplier audits (that define and categorise our vendors) and strict goods inwards procedures. These implementations confirm Rebound’s commitment to its customers and to the industry as a whole and have created a strong foundation on which to continue the company’s success.
Rebound is now a worldwide company with headquarters in Newbury, UK and a further 24 offices throughout Europe, Asia, North America and South Africa.
